Why when even worshiping our Lord and trying to to service to the community there is always the ?

I love my church,my pastor,congregation.My daughter and I try to serve by helping with United Way Christmas Care kids.I am upset that an elder dared to call my daughter and say there must be a better way to run the program,doubted the info,criticized even writing in pencil! It takes alot of work to coordinate everything.This person is a retired teacher and high up in the church-that is she can give communion and help with baptisms.
