Do i wait for him to want children and marriage?

here's a little history on situation...we been together for over a year.. knew eachother for a couple years before and hes had the biggest crush on me i finally said yes..hes mid 30's, we have a mostly great relationship, we had a miscarriage about 4 months ago..at the time he suggested having a baby and when we did get preg,he hesitated on wanting to marry right away when i would ask about it he would say "now lets not get in a rush... or well talk about it" after we lost the baby at 2 months he has been very hesitant on getting pregnant again..some relatives gave me some baby stuff for christmas b/c they thought we were gonna try again and when i went to put it away in closet ( so i wouldnt have to see it everyday) he said lets put it out it will encourage us to try... we agreed to try soon..but as the time got closer he puts it off it was 2 months..then 4.. 6... now a whole nother year. he picks up bridal magazines and gives them to me just to turn around and say he wants to wait...when hes drunk he says he wants to marry me and give me kids... he has even bought baby stuff with me a whole bunch of stuff as if we were gonna try again ... and then its like he changes his mind..hes sweet but i dont know why all the flip flop on decisions. just the other day he went to a friends house and came home and said theyre baby was cute and that he just wanted to go ahead and ask me to marry him and have kids... next day when i tell him that it confuses me when he says one thing and does another he replies.."well lets not get ahead of ourselves"...he even looked at wedding dresses and told me to order one... now i have a baby room and a wedding dress on the way that he helped pick out and hes uncertain all over again..whats really going on?
