Do I need stitches?

Today I went horsebacking riding and wore shorts that went down to my knees. While getting off my knee was clipped by something on the stirips and started to bleed. The cut isnt very deep but its no longer than an 1 inch wide or long. It doest really hurt and I just but a gauze pad on it and cleaned it up. Should i get it looked at by a doctor or get stitches?
